The Washtenaw County Road Commission will hold a Public Hearing to review the Road Commission's Proposed 2010 Budget. This hearing will be held on December 15, 2009, 1:00 pm. at the Washtenaw County Road Commission Administration Building, 555 N. Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
The Proposed 2010 Budget recognizes a 5% reduction in projected Michigan Transportation Fund revenue as it incorporates the recently adopted Capital Improvement Projects, Service Level Adjustments, and routine maintenance expenditures. The total expenditures for 2010 are estimated to be $43,302,000 as compared to $44,529,000 for 2009. The final projected expenditures are only $1.2 million less than our final projected 2009 expenditure; this is due to $3.1 million of projects that will be deferred to 2010.
The Board of Road Commissioners held a Working Session in December to consider the 2010 budget recommendations from Steven Puuri, Managing Director. “Our agency has been forced to make some tough decisions as we prepared the proposed 2010 budget. With falling revenue and increasing expenses, we had to hold the line on many activities that we should be expanding due to the condition of our aging road system.”
