Background

On Monday, May 17, 2010, the Washtenaw County Road Commission and C&D Hughes, Inc. will begin Phase 2 construction on the Whittaker Road and Stony Creek Road roundabout project located in Ypsilanti Township.  During this phase of the project, Whittaker Road will be CLOSED between Textile Road and Huron River Drive.  In addition, Stony Creek Road will remain CLOSED between Textile Road and Whittaker Road.  This intersection closure is expected to last 35 days.

  • Finally, those traveling to the Ypsilanti Moose Lodge and Pine View Golf Course will continue to access Stony Creek Road from the south at Textile Road.
  • There will be no through traffic allowed through the work zone.

Please be advised that the Washtenaw County Sheriff Department has been notified and will be providing enforcement activities to help provide a safe environment for the road workers and motorists alike.

Finally, the Road Commission thanks you for your patience and cooperation as we undertake this roundabout construction project.
