Why: Asphalt Paving Operations
Background
The Washtenaw County Road Commission will continue asphalt paving operations on North Territorial Road from 0.3 miles west of Madden Road to Toma Road on Monday, May 24, 2010. These paving operations are expected to take approximately two (2) days. In addition, shoulder material will be placed on the newly paved section of North Territorial Road between Toma Road and Dexter-Pinckney Road. During these daytime activities, traffic will be restricted to one-lane under flag control operation. Access for residents and deliveries will be maintained, however, delays are likely; the asphalt will have to be allowed to cool to prevent damaging the newly placed material.
In addition, the Road Commission has scheduled milling and asphalt paving operations on North Territorial Road from Webster Church Road to Whitmore Lake Road beginning on Monday, May 24, 2010. These paving operations are expected to take approximately five (5) days. Again, traffic will be restricted to one-lane under flag control operation and access for residents and deliveries will be maintained, however, delays are likely.
Please note that all dates are tentative and the asphalt paving operations are weather dependent.
To maintain the safety of road crews, motorists are asked to be especially mindful of construction equipment and personnel and reduce speeds accordingly. The Washtenaw County Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as we continue our efforts to preserve the county road system.
