Invitation to Bid
Pavement Marking Program

Sealed bids will be received by the Washtenaw County Road Commission at the Administration Building Main Receptionist Desk, 555 North Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48103, until 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at which time they will be publicly opened and read for furnishing the following:

  • HANDWORK PAVEMENT MARKING PROGRAM

  • LONGLINE PAVEMENT MARKING PROGRAM

Proposals, bid forms and other information will be available on March 26, 2010, at the Washtenaw County Road Commission Administration Building with the above address.

Bids shall be completed on the provided form. Bids shall be signed by an authorized agent of the bidder, and submitted in a sealed envelope that is plainly marked on the outside as to the contents.  Bids failing to meet these requirements will not be considered.

Bidders shall examine the specifications and are fully informed as to the nature of the work and the condition relating to their performance and they shall understand that the quantities shown are approximate only and are subject to either increase or decrease.

The bidder hereby proposes to furnish all necessary machinery, tools, apparatus, and other means of construction, do all the work, furnish all the materials except as otherwise specified and, for each unit cost, to complete the work in strict conformity with the specifications which is incorporated by reference in these pages, and in strict conformity with the requirements of the “2003 Standard Specifications for Construction, Michigan Department of Transportation.”

The bidder further proposes to do such extra work as may be authorized by the Road Commission, prices for which are not included in the itemized bid. Compensation shall be made on the basis agreed upon before such extra work is begun.

Prospective contractors shall conform to the Michigan Department of Transportation's pre-qualification requirements.

The successful contractor will be required to pay workers employed under this contract the minimum prevailing wage rates.

The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part of same; to waive irregularities and / or informalities and to make the award in part or entirety as may appear to be in the best interest of the County of Washtenaw.

The right is reserved by the Washtenaw County Road Commission to increase or decrease the quantities in the amount of not more than twenty-five percent of the total contract, for the Handwork Pavement Marking Program, in accordance with Section 103.02 of the Michigan Department of Transportation’s 2003 Standard Specifications for Construction.
